My husband and I have a small lake house on Lake Island Ford, a beautiful ski size lake in Odessa, Florida. It is a rather old Florida style property with a wild yard that looks green with little watering as our weeds are greener and more prolific than our grass. Our little house and yard clean up quite nice and with low lights and candles anything can be magical. My husband has been friends with the Hooks family for years and when their daughter Monica and her fiance Michael asked to have their wedding in our backyard, no was not even an option. Planning any kind of event outdoors can be a risky venture. You learn to have back up plans that can range all the way from plan A to plans E and F and then some. Having been in the event planning industry for years, I have learned that the months October and November are relatively safe planning months for outdoor events in the Tampa Bay area. Monica and Michael were on a limited budget and she had done her research diligently and knew exactly the look and feel she wanted for her wedding. Like most brides, she wanted a low cost wedding that looked like a million bucks and so she brought all of her magazines and pictures of weddings, centerpieces and flowers that she had been cutting out and perusing for months and we put our heads together to plan the most incredible outdoor wedding extravaganza for an even more incredible low cost. Sit Down Dinner for 40

This is a picture from a sit down sixtieth birthday dinner party for 40 people at a mountain house up in Sylva, North Carolina. We had a Tuscan theme on a summer evening in July. It was spectacular and everyone was delighted. I placed tables end to end with 20 people seated on each side. We had regular white tablecloths with table toppers on top. We found small rocks from the creek and painted everyone's name on them to show them where to sit.

It is really nice to be from a large family. One of the benefits is that when someone is ill there are lots of people to help out and come visit. Another benefit is having talented siblings. My mother has been in the hospital this week and I have been in Pensacola helping out with her. My sister Judi Knight came down from Atlanta. Judi also does design and build in Atlanta and so we have always shopped together and shared design ideas. Over the past few years Judi has taught herself web design and been active in Social Network Marketing. This has come in handily now with the building/construction business being so tight. She has started a new business called New Tricks, to help people put together blog websites or to change their existing sites to easily maintained blog platform sites, primarily on WordPress.

While sitting in Mom's hospital room, Judi helped me get a new Domain and a Delux hosting account on Go Daddy. My domain name is LindaKnight.me, which we thought was very cool. The .me URL is new and so you are likely to find your name if you hurry. It typically takes a few hours for Go Daddy to get the site active and once it was Judi showed me how to have Go Daddy set up a WordPress account and database for my new site. Presto, that was done it a flash. I am now playing with different themes and will be adding my own photos to the site over the next few weeks. So stay tuned and see what develops.
